I will go on record saying this is the best EP ever. Bar none. If you disagree, well you can go straight to hell. This is Destruction at its absolute best. This may only be 4 tracks, but I feel these are possibly the best 4 tracks ever recorded by Destruction, along with Curse the Gods perhaps. The guitar tone is perfect. It has a nice crunch to it and just sounds perfect. Schmier's vocals are in true form, sounding haunting. He hits those high shrieks when he needs to and gives the music real emotion (even though he is telling us to reject emotions). The lyrics aren't exactly philosophical beauty, but this is the fucking Mad Butcher so who cares. Who cares if he sings about getting laid while being horny? We've all been there before. Excellent songs, excellent album art, excellent vocals, silly lyrics at times, and a song that gave Destruction its nickname, what more could you ask for? Destruction are one of the greatest thrash bands around. They released the greatest EP ever in Mad Butcher. Go get this by any means necessary right now, including killing for it. As a matter of fact killing for it is encouraged. Stop reading and go listen to MAD BUTCHER! |
