Like just about everyone I was eagerly waiting for this new Rhapsody release, following the excellent Legendary Tales and Symphony of Enchanted Lands. I was a little bit disappointed at first, but after a few listens this turned out to be yet another masterpiece from Rhapsody. Although I won't go as far as saying it is as good as the first two releases, Dawn of Victory is definitely an above average album, what we've come to expect from Rhapsody. Those who were looking for something entirely different are in for a deception, as the album is in pretty much the same vein as its predecessors, symphonic epic power metal by the inventors of the genre (I do not like the new Hollywood Metal label that they made up, so I'll stick to the former, thank you very much.) Nothing new then, but really, did we want them to change much? Probably not. The music fits perfectly with the lyrics, the booklet is awesome like for the previous albums - one would hope that more bands put that much work into their booklets. What more can I say but this is over 49 minutes of great music? Buy, buy, buy.
