Debut solo effort for the former Angra vocalist nobody cares a hamster's nut about. I wasn't expecting much, and boy did I get it. Like a lot of vocalist solo albums, this one is heavy on poppy melodies and short on metal. This is so AOR I almost didn't review it. Here and there you get some heaviness going, but then the Micheal Bolton vocal lines get going and it's ruined. Edu is a decent singer, but nothing really great. "Golden Empire" stands out as a really good song with a cool chorus, but otherwise the songwriting on here is sadly deficient. Listenable if you are in the mood for radio-friendly rock, but otherwise worthless except for the one good song. |
