Tharaphita's second album on Nailboard Records overall follows the basic recipe used for 2005's "Primeval Force", but with a few changes, the most notable of which being that the epic atmosphere is essentially gone, leaving us with some more straightforward and in-your-face Pagan Black Metal. The songs are also all in their native tongue this time around. The vocal style is basically the same, harsh Black/thrash vocals, but a little more aggressive and less melodic than they were on "Primeval Force." The music is slightly less varied, leaving out the "happier"-sounding moments and focusing on a more basic Black Metal-ish approach, with some occasional more or less acoustic short interludes here and there.

While this album sounds less grandiose than its predecessor, the band having opted for a more raw and metallic approach, the same quality of musicianship is on display here. There are enough similarities to recognize the band, but also enough of a variation of the style that some who may not like one album may like the other. I found "Primeval Force" more fun to listen to, but it wins only by a hair. Pick up both if you can. ;)
