Review

Through numerous personnel changes and hardship, Enthroned have survived since 1993. No original members are left and even founder Cernunnos took his life in April 1997. Tetra Karcist is their fourth album with Napalm Records, actually their eighth full length.

Enthroned might not be considered groundbreaking, but one can't argue that what the guys are doing is a very professional type of Black Metal. A few electronics and samplings are present while no symphonic orchestration or keyboards are heard. Great vocal performances throughout, ranging from Gregorian chants to wicked rasps and growls. Three of the musicians add their own vocals here. Two guitar players master the crushing riffs, melodic arpeggios and tremolo pickings. The pounding rhythmic section is quite impressive and I just have to mention the thrilling drumming for its hell of a kick and all-around playing. I mean this guy knows more than simply blasting double bass from beginning to end. Superb musicianship and professionalism is what I retained from Enthroned.

Titles to mention on "Tetra Karcist" are, to name but a few: "Ingressus Regnum Spiritus", "Nox" and "Vermin.
