Review

Third album for Gorgoroth, released again by Regain Records ten years after its original pressing. Gorgoroth were one of the original second-wave BM stalwarts, but they don't get as much cred as other bands who are not appreciably better. I have to say that "Pentagram" remains the only album by this band I find really compelling. By this time Gorgoroth had become faster, more tremolo-focused, and incredibly generic. This is not a bad album, but the recording is thin, and there is nothing here you have not heard on a thousand other Black Metal albums. Uninspired and disappointing.
