Short and sweet little EP here. Final Redemption hail from Maryland and play some pretty decent, no-frills Death Metal that, while overall enjoyable, is nothing that the genre's aficionados haven't heard before. This is very much like the US Death Metal that we've grown used to, so if you like that sound, you may find something of interest here. It's mostly fast paced with blast beats aplenty, a few breaks here and there and some very cool thrashing guitar passages. What struck me the most is that there are several vocal styles here - from very guttural growls, to a more screechy style, and even a little bit of a core-ish style which is thankfully in the minority here. Nothing particularly original, but well executed and definitely showing potential. |
