Hello everyone. My name is Christian Renner and I am a fuckin' old guy. Just to give you young uns' an idea of my age, let's just say I was eagerly awaiting the release of Slayer's Reign in Blood album (yes...vinyl. CD's were some new fangled technology at that time). I was at the store with money in hand from an actual job when I picked up that 29 minute assault of pure metal genius. I bring all of this up simply to point out that I was there when the Thrash Metal scene exploded out of the Bay Area and Germany. I read the thank lists on all of those albums in order to find new bands to check out (Gore hadn't invented the Internet yet).
Being a huge fan of this style of metal for better than 20 years now this new resurgence of old school Thrash Metal is just making me giddy as a little school girl. There seems to be more and more bands jumping on this trend but unfortunately not all of them are able to capture that magic. Well these young uns' from California named Warbringer have captured that magic to a degree I never thought I would see again. This album is just filled to the bursting point with pure unadulterated kick you in the sack Thrash Metal! Everything about this album just transports me straight back to 1986 with my bullet belt and my white high tops. It is not simply the music, which is of course the biggest reminder, but also the album artwork, their stage presence (Youtube fuckin' has everything!!!), and of course the production which being handled by Bill Metoyer is certainly no shock.
I just have to thank Warbringer for taking me back to my misspent youth with this slab of metal that simply made an old man smile. You want Thrash? You got Thrash! Pick this album up now fuckers...listen to your elders for once at least. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!
