Another Dismember album. I wish there was a whole lot more to say about it than that, but there's not, as I find pretty much all of their works interchangeable. This is another 'self-titled' album by a long-established band, which I find pretty lame. You might as well call the album "We Can't Think Of A Good Title". All that said, Dismember's eighth album is exactly what you expect from them. This is a furious, old NWSDM-style assault on the ears. I think the production is a bit better than last time out, but that's about the only difference, as the songwriting is so similar to old albums it's indistinguishable. "Legion" stands out as pretty good, but there aren't any other tunes on here that really stick. If you love Dismember, then this will get your rocks off, no problem. But it has to be said that Swedish Death Metal does not really come more generic than this. |
