Folk Produktion is a new Folk/Pagan label from Austria and Sorrow of the Wind is their first product. Wood Temple is also from Austria. As seen on Myspace, four previous releases were done before this latest effort.

This act is made of one single musician who goes by the name of Aramath. Wood Temple put together in its music melodic/ambient folk elements with harsher Pagan tones. This creates a rather nice, even sympathetic and easy to listen to underground release. Wind and bird samplings are showing up in a couple of occasions, nature being a source of inspiration for the music. Clean guitar playing; most probably done on acoustic instrument, flute and various percussions form the more organic sounds of this work. Much harsher tonalities found in the vocals and guitars unveil a definite Pagan flavor in the heavier, yet still melodic passages. I found the same strum pattern of the clean guitars being a bit too much used and some variety in that area would have been welcome. Nonetheless, it is still appreciated and works pretty well in the calmer zones. I really can't say anything bad about Sorrow of the Wind since I liked every single composition here with the title track ranking as my overall favorite. This song contains all the best elements while showing the talent Wood Temple has. Besides the "Intro" and "Outro", a third instrumental is found on track # 4, "Path of the Runes" where symphonic keyboards could be heard. This instrument is frequently used as a mean to bring more atmosphere in the general sound.

All in all, Sorrow of the Wind is a pretty pleasant Folk/Pagan offering.
