Hot on the heels on the full-length Pleasures of the Scalpel, Fetid Zombie are back with a very short EP - 4 songs for slightly less than 11 minutes. It's over before you know it! The band stays the course here, with a gore-themed, somewhat brutal but catchy Death Metal with -mostly- very guttural vocals that blend very well with the music (sometimes a little too well, as if they got lost somewhere in transit.) The sound is better here than on the previous album - the songs sound heavier, the guitars sound better, crunchier, sometimes a little on the thrashy side. Machine gun-style riffage meet more laid back but heavier, crushing riffs. Not much else to say for such a short release - those who liked Pleasures of the Scalpel will find themselves in known territory here, but with a sound that'll tear 'em a new one. |
