Jesus fu..ing Christ, am I glad this shit only lasts 15 minutes! Impiety is a band I didn't know, and could have done without. True that with such a cover art, I should have expected something of this nature. Impiety plays fast, vicious, hyperactive and blasphemous generic Black Metal. I know Black Metal is considered extreme music, but dammit, all this relentlessness is getting on my nerves! If you are into hyper-blasting/machine gun drumming and thrashy/core rasps, then Dominator is definitely for you. Fortunately, Impiety had the idea of injecting some melodic touches and ambience. "Introbliteration" opens up with ambient keyboards and battlefield samplings. These elements are also closing the album. There are a few good crunchy riffs on most of the tracks, helping diversifying their sound, as well as some leads/solos with tremolo picking. I'm looking for more atmosphere, inspiration, mysticism and mature songwriting when I'm listening to Black Metal, and very often find it, but not on this one. As far as I'm concerned, Dominator is teenager's stuff. Hope I won't be unfortunate enough to get their full-length! |
