Unholy shit... Now is that metal or what. Dekapitator plays fast blackened traditional Thrash (yeah, I'm using that description to confuse you.. ;)) The vocals are kind of a mix between the mighty Motörhead and Slaughter (the Canadian Thrash band, not the glam rock band), very raw, fast and aggressive - extremely well fitting to the music. This stuff is headbanging material from beginning to end. Songs like "Release the Dogs" just scream METAL. Fast, raw, aggressive guitars (I'm sort of repeating myself but that's what it is), thunderous drumming... Hell, that's just everywhere on this release, but "Release the Dogs" is definitely my favourite song on the album, although I found all of them to be almost equally good. Not much can be added really! Dekapitator play uncompromising metal, no keyboards or other soft crap, just guitars and drums and screaming vocals. Don't look for big innovations or technical achievement here, just enjoy the simplicity and rawness of this great release. Those who were in stuff such as "Kill 'em All"-era Metallica, Slaughter(Canada) and other 80s Thrash bands will get a hell of a kick out of this album. One more band that should be hailed for not giving in to the trends of the day. Highly recommended. |
