This is perhaps a demo due to the few songs involved and its raw production. We can handle some rawness in our Black Metal, which is no problem. In Svedhous' case, it is formed by a combination of highly distorted guitar work, discrete drums, and I don't seem to hear any bass. Nonetheless, I can't say this music sounds bad, and all the fuzziness serves the musical direction very well. Depressive/suicidal Black Metal is the path chosen by Svedhous to express its somber message. I always like my Black Metal done with more moderate, doom-ish tempos, and Path of Suicide never goes beyond a mid pace. The music is keeping its melodic touch by means of arpeggios (clean and distorted), as well as clean leads. The heavy and meatier riffs, with those desperate rasps team up to form a quite oppressive atmosphere.
Off the three songs, track #1 is the one I enjoyed the most, although all of them are quite good actually. For the fans of deeply dark Black Metal arts.
