I thought this looked like a metalcore CD, and so I was avoiding it, but I finally decided I had to check it out to be fair. Turns out this isn't ‘core, it's just fairly lame. Uigg (which sounds like the noise someone makes when they throw up) play Death Metal with some Thrash elements. This isn't that bad, and they do thug some good riffs, but overall this is too blasty and yappy for me. Uigg (Yeesh I hate that name) seem dedicated to the kind of pseudo-‘coreish groove that has given Gothenburg a bad name. This is the kind of album it is difficult to find anything much to say about, as there is not anything that really stands out as either really good or really bad, except perhaps the vocals, as they are really, really terrible. An album title (and a song) taken from the Transformers movie does not speak well for their seriousness and makes this seem like a joke band. Musically this is a decent disc, but not really exciting. |
