Doomshine is a Doom Metal band from Germany (given that ooh so obvious name) and this is their debut album. The songs on this album are long, all surpassing the five and a half minute mark and that's cool by me since the majority of them are good, if not great. This band plays at a mid-paced tempo, never confusing playing slow with boring, the end result being highly enjoyable stuff. Having said that, their brand of metal is not progressive or innovative - it is just played which such conviction that you won't care.

The musicians are capable enough to carry the interesting ideas that this thing has and you will not complain about the performances here. You are going to remember something from the record as soon as you finish listening to it. There is always something that will grab your attention, whether it is a guitar riff/solo or a vocal line. Thy Kingdom Come is a heavy record throughout and that is very catchy, also it has excellent lyrics to boot.

Their influences are too obvious to ignore: the singer sounds like Rob Lowe and "Sleep with the Devil" sounds too much like Solitude Aeturnus. Doomshine has delivered a great Doom Metal album that is becoming a favorite of mine. This is one band that I'll keep watching from now on.
