This is an album of rather conventional Doom/Death by a Russian band re-recording one of their early works with a better studio. Ordinarily I like Doom/Death pretty well, but I find this rather boring. Listening to any one song and you think it's not bad, but seventy-four minutes of it is too much, and after a while my attention wandered and made it hard to really focus on the album. For Doom/Death in the general vein of bands like Morgion this is okay, but it has nothing really good about it to make it stand out from the crowd. It's heavy, and it has some good melodies, but there just isn't much to say about it: it's not awful, it's not great, it's meh. |
