The two first songs are of the very fast, vicious and sick Black Metal type. I was ready to go through this album while suffering in silence, when something unexpected happened: crunchy riffs and moderate tempo on track three, "Hate Me God?" What a difference! To make matters better, "Depressive/Abstract/Banished/Despised" follows the same pattern, and goes even further by introducing a more melodic touch. As far as I can decipher, some discrete keyboards are actually improving the overall sound, and this can be heard on most compositions. More crunchiness and moderate tempos counterbalance the hyper-blasting moments in the last three tracks. Add to this distorted arpeggios in pieces like "Suffer in Silence" and "Endstille (Verführer)". Not a masterpiece by any means, but not the total piece of extreme / gore crap that I expected at first. It would still be wise to listen before acquiring. |
