I thought Nex Perpetui Regis had found themselves a label when I reviewed their previous demo, but apparently that didn't get anywhere, so here's another demo. This one here has pretty good sound quality overall – good enough that it could end up on an album and no one but nitpickers would complain. There's a bit of Carpathian Forest vibe here, especially on the first two sucks – they're not as "Black ‘n' Roll"-ish as the Norwegians, but some similarities can be drawn, and of course the style does result in some catchiness. Overall this is mid-paced, heavy and headbang-inducing (the second track is a festival of catchiness and headbanging), with mostly BM screams in lieu of vocals, which kind of fits the energetic style favored by the band here. The third track is the most "quiet" in that it's overall slower than the others (though it speeds up here and there) and feels more melancholic, as opposed to the more in-your-face destruction fest that the others sound like. The screams do give it a bit of an aggressive but also "desperate" vibe, all for a very good end result.

Top-notch screaming, aggressive, abrasive and heavy guitar work that knows when to be become more melodic (without the wimp factor, needless to say), and some good pounding of the drums – Nex Perpetui Regis have a good little demo here, and hopefully this time it'll open some doors for them.
