Doomenicus is an Italian Doom Metal band and this is their debut album, Sacred. Their brand of Doom is extremely slow, to the point that I get bored to death. The disc keeps that pace all the way through except for some spots here and there. Sacred has dry guitar tones that are similar to most bands of the genre and like any other band their lyrics are about mourn, death, loss, pain, etc. The record also has six songs, four of them over the seven minute mark. That would have been good except that most of those songs sucks; a clear example of this is the opener "Cold Embrace". It feels like a long ass intro rather than a proper song. There are some good points though: the lead "Remember to November" is good (even though it is too short and you have to wait seven minutes for it to kick in). Also the bass is audible and is an integral part of the sound, in other words is not buried in the mix; this is especially clear in the title track. Other than that, there is nothing here that you haven't heard a million times before and done a lot better. At the end of the day, the album isn't a total waste of time but it sure feels like it and if these guys are going to make another record I strongly suggest that they make better songs. Until then, Doomenicus will be destined to be a third rate Doom band.
