This is pretty much a fans-only release from Disarmonia Mundi, being a repressing of their debut album from 2002, along with their new The Restless Memoirs EP, which is itself made up of castoff and bonus tracks from their older recording sessions, encompassing songs that go back to 1999. So again this band adds to the jerking around they have been doing for close to 5 years now rather than recording a new album. Disarmonia Mundi pretty much embody everything trendy about gothenburger melodeth, and they weren't any better when they were starting out. They don't play much of anything that is really offensively bad, but then again they are plainly not very interested in metal as a genre, and the stabs they make at new sounds must be balanced against the opportunistic way that they are used. Despite a general listenablity, I don't see much value to this band or their music: They don't produce anything we couldn't live without. If you already like this band, then go a head and get this. I wouldn't. |
