First time hearing these guys, even though their first full-length dates all the way back to 1998. From what I've read, their older stuff is Death/Thrash, and while this here can be thrown in the same category, the focus is much more on Death Metal. They remind me a lot of The Crown, circa Deathrace King – something similar in the vocals and the musical style to some extent, though Death Domination is closer to "pure" Swedish Death Metal.

This is a very busy album – things get started heavy and fast with "Abomination Glorified", and there's very little reprieve after that, save for a few mid-paced passages scattered here and there where the music is nonetheless pounding through you speakers. The vocals are throaty growls, decipherable to an extent here and there, but my guess is that a lot of it will fly over anyone's head – but from a "sonic" point of view, it's a match made in hell with the aggressiveness, loudness and speed of the music. The guitar, when they're not in full-on Death Metal "squeaky" mode, can get very crunchy, even a bit catchy – this is where the Thrash takes over the Death Metal for very small periods of time. "The Demand" is a particularly catchy one, especially the part where the drums leave the room to a simple riff that just sticks in your head. They go easy on the blast beats, sticking to more interesting drumming more often than not – some fucking fast and loud pounding of the skins can be heard throughout the album.

It's not particularly original, but it had been a while since I had heard this kind of material and Impious really hit the nail right on the head with Death Domination. Fast, heavy, speaker-shattering stuff. Gotta love it.
