My speakers won't be able to take much more of this. I don't know what's in the water in South America, but when they decide to rip the place up, they take no prisoners. This is my first experience with this Chilean black/thrashing horde, but I'll sure be taking a look at their previous material after hearing this. Loud, fast, pounding blackened thrash is what's on offer here, and even though it's a bit short at a little under 18 minutes (well, it is an EP), it's enough to pin you to the ground and make you their bitch – and you'll be asking for more (you S&M freak you...) Demon Metal is not particularly original. It's very old school and raw, and most aficionados of the genre have heard something similar before. What makes this rule so much is the execution. The vocals are demonic and out of this world, kind of a loud raspy style with a demonic effect applied – the uninitiated will run for their lives just hearing these. The guitar work is busy as hell, shredding like there's no tomorrow at high speed, and occasionally slowing down and cranking the heaviness up a few notches – there's simpply no escape. Same for the drums, which have sure made my subwoofer jump around the floor for the past couple of weeks. Fast and pounding relentlessly, that it some devastating drum work and save for a few clingy passages here and there they are pretty much perfect for the genre. This motherfucker is loud even with the volume down. Fucking great black/thrash that rips, end of story. Not for wimps. |
