This marked the third release for the French powerhouse known as Manigance. Those who are not familiar with this band should rectify that problem without delay because Manigance play a very unique brand of progressive, melodic Power Metal, the likes of which should have immediate appeal to fans of the genre. All of the elements that made the previous release Ange ou démon so awesome are present once again.

After a brief intro the album explodes through your speakers with tremendous sonic force with "Empire Virtuel" beginning with a speedy guitar entrance, followed by the opening riff, then the powerful percussion of the drum kit being abused by the highly skilled Daniel Pouylau; hence the epic thrill ride that is D'un autre sang begins. The staple for the entire album are the heavy sharp riffs, accompanied by precise, lightning quick soloing compliments of Francois Merle and Bruno Ramos. The tasteful keyboard work once again complements the music, enhancing the overall progressive and heavy feel of the songs. Speaking of heavy, the pounding rhythm section of Marc Duffau (Bass) and the aforementioned Daniel Pouylau (drums) serve as a thunderous backdrop to the entire spectacle, while the remarkable French-sung vocals provided by Didier Delsaux and the beautifully harmonized choruses finish things off to create a beautiful piece of musical art. There is not a single track that I would even begin to classify as weak or inconsistent, in fact the entire album flows so seamlessly that it actually sounds like one continuously long song, so the notion of providing a track by track analysis is unnecessary except for the sake of droning out a lengthier review, but seriously what's the point.

I cannot rave enough about the virtues of these little known French artists. They are one of those rare finds that reinforce all the reasons why metal is the greatest form of musical entertainment on the planet. An absolute no brainer of a purchase for Progressive/Power Metal fans. D'un autre sang is an album that is screaming to be a part of your collection.
