This is the new band put together by Pete Helmkamp in the wake of the demise of the great Angelcorpse. Since Pete has been ripping out Satanic Death Metal for like fifteen years, it should not come as a surprise that he found himself unable to stop. So if you heard this and wondered why it sounds so uncannily like Angelcorpse, the reason is that one of that band's masterminds is behind the songwriting and the vocals as well.

This is very similar to the kind of chaotic shredding fury that Angelcorpse always played, only with a slightly modernized production job. In other words it fucking kicks ass and leaves only butchered corpses and aborted fetuses in its wake. The cross between Death fury and Black misanthropy has always been fertile ground for this kind of, mixing the barely-restrained anarchy of classic Morbid Angel with the raw aggression of acts like Belphegor or Marduk, Kerasphorus are certainly not breaking any molds, unless it's possible to do that with your head. More a continuation of Angelcorpse than a new band, this is still a very welcome EP in my house, and it makes me want to throw the horns while I sodomize a goat.
