This album was a complete and utter surprise for me. I had seen this band's debut album at The End Records website but never did get around to picking it up. Well after listening to the follow up album that oversight will soon be rectified. Fans of the harder edged style of thrash metal (The Crown, The Haunted, At The Gates) prepare to have your ass thoroughly kicked because here comes Hatesphere and man do these guys sound pissed.

After doing some research on the band online I found that this band has actually been around since 1992. Hailing from Denmark they started as a band named Necrosis and released three demos before signing with Scarlet Records and releasing their self-titled debut. As I have said before I have not heard the debut but if "Bloodred Hatred" is any indication of the quality to expect then I am sure that one is excellent as well.

The album itself is pure thrash metal from beginning to end with great hooks and breakdown sections. Although they are mainly steeped in the new era of thrash they certainly haven’t forgotten the glory days of the Bay Area sound and use the sound quite liberally. One of the many highlights of the album is the far better than average guitar work…especially in the lead playing. There is some absolute shredding going on here to go along with the grit your teeth kind of heavy ass riffs. Hell the only complaint I can possible make about the album is that it is too short. Clocking in at a measly 32 minutes it certainly leaves you wanting more.

Overall this is an album that any fan of the thrash metal genre should have in their collection. This is simply a perfect disc to get the blood pumping before you beat the crap out of your neighbor (In no way do I condone any sort of violence…even if your neighbor is an asshole…lol). HIGHLY, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
