This demo has seemingly resurfaced thanks to this year's release of Angrepp's first album, Warfare. Prepare for the Attack is pretty decent for a demo: Good enough sound and just under half an hour in length. Angrepp's weapon of choice is raw Black/Thrash (emphasis on Black) and they pull it off pretty well overall. The more "Black" elements remind me of Darkthrone (mid-90s era) at times, but with enough of an added Thrash vibe not to sound like a ripoff. This stuff is mid to fast paced and often kind of catchy with some headbangable, or at least foot-tapping-inducing moments, usually in the fastest parts.

Things can get a little disorderly to the point of being annoying (for example there's a cool part that starts just before the 3:30 mark on "Scandinavian Dawns", but a few seconds later the pace changes completely and completely fucks up the effect – argh!), but this being a demo I guess the guys were experimenting a little. The vocals are raspy and barely intelligible, but quite fitting to the raw music. Sometimes messy, sometimes repetitive, sometimes a little weird, but good enough to make me look forward to hearing the Warfare album. Oh and, gotta love that cover art!
