This is a US Death Metal band who have been making some waves lately. I was concerned that this would be grindy, but instead this is a refreshingly thrashy affair. This band borrows a lot from acts like Morbid Angel or Deicide, but they also have a riffiness that recalls early Destruction. They abuse vocal effects pretty hard throughout, but they maintain an infectious energy and keep the aggression level up. There is a looseness and catchiness to Visions of Death that most bands long ago traded in for tightness and technicality, and it makes the music here quite lively and invigorating. I can't call this a classic, but I had fun listening to it. |
