This is an energetic and kick-ass EP from Italian band Worstenemy. I am always suspicious of new DM bands, as so many of them are infected with either 'core or gore, but this one is stertainingly old-fashioned and visceral. Worstenemy draw on a palette of sounds from bands like Bolt Thrower, Incantation, and Dismember. Melodic without being wussy, brutal without being technical or over-busy, riff-oriented and executed with conviction. Under Ashes of Wicked is a skull-hammering good time for Death fans. A band to watch.
