I know it is kind of traditional for Latin American Death Metal bands to have raw recording jobs, but this is unnecessarily bad. Hacavitz have been around for seven years and this is their third album – could they not get a better production than this? I mean, you could have a recording four times better and still not lose your underground cred. This is acceptable music, though it has nothing really arresting about it. It's just serviceable, but the recording is so muffled and weak it becomes comical. The playing is pro, and the arrangements are decent, it just sounds like a real band recorded this with the microphones in the closet. In a house down the street. |
