No, this is not a new album from Hirax, but a compilation of three EPs: Barrage of Noise, Chaos and Brutality and Assassins of War. As a result, this sounds a bit disjointed and really doesn't feel like an album (duh.) But you're still in for a good dose of old school Thrash. I barely know Hirax (my bad), but listening to this I couldn't help but think of Intruder (the vocals especially), but slightly less... "disciplined." The clean, powerful vocals are most notable here – in fact this is what got stuck in my head the most. The music, not so much. It's not bad by any means, just not all that remarkable. Old school, basic Thrash is what these guys are about and that's what they deliver here. It's raw, heavy and the guitars grind the fuck out of those speakers – powerful stuff, just not all that memorable. If the intention was to introduce people to the band and interest them in checking out their full-length albums then, yeah, it worked for me. ;)
