I was not a fan of this band's last album, The Ghost Collector, but this is a bit better. Netherbird at least seem to have decided what kind of band they want to be, as the Doom/Death pretensions are gone, and the band is solidly a Gothic/Black Metal act. That said, there's nothing especially good about mixing those two genres together. Mostly what you get is super-generic BM interspersed with some shitty keyboard bits and some even shittier female vocalizing. Netherbird have picked a genre, but they still pretty much suck, as their riffs are tired and cliché and their vocals are boring. There is nothing here resembling a riff or a song that you will remember or want to hear again. |
