This is a solid album of Morbid Angel worship from this German band. Kreon have kind of an odd name, but their sound will be instantly familiar to fans of the genre. Kreon play riffy, slightly technical Death Metal with some cool guttural growls and a good, heavy production. Morti Uhlig is a much better vocalist than David Vincent on the classic MA albums, but Kreon do not have the benefit of really good, technical leadwork – but they do okay. The music here is solid and unimaginative Death Metal – entertaining but not revelatory. If you like this genre, you will like this album, but it's not going to blow your mind. |
