What the hell happened to Symphorce!? I loved Phorceful Ahead, and even found a few moments of enjoyment on Godspeed and Twice Second. Become Death saw the band move away from their previously established sound, flirting with the style of Nevermore – note to any band out there, don't try to ape that sound as you will fail. Well, now their love affair with Nevermore seems to have faded, however it certainly wasn't for the better. No, now they've decided to add even more groove to their sound and glossed it over with arena hard rock. I can't even listen to this all the way through; it churns my stomach far too much. If you're going to listen to this I'd suggested popping an Imodium or two because this is more butt-clenching than the latest Athorn album. Not even Andy B. Franck can save this from the crap heap. My advice to him is get out of there while he can, stick to your day job in Brainstorm mate. I rarely give out 0 out of 5 scores, and to have to do two of them in quick succession – especially being allegedly power metal albums – isn't a good thing. AFM is one of my favorite labels that I will always associate with quality, which makes this even more a shame. Utterly worthless, Symphorce fans join me in a listen of Phorceful Ahead and let's forget about Unrestricted.
