A lot of people seem to really hate 3 Inches of Blood, considering them a joke band or a metalcore band for some reason I am far too smart to be able to understand. I have found this band's last two albums to be a lot of fun, but not so much with this one. This is their fourth album, and it is not as cool as their old stuff. For this album the band has severely simplified their songwriting, going with a rote verse/chorus structure and mercilessly repeating the lackluster refrains. The riffs are plain and unexciting, the vocal lines are catchy but insultingly simple, and the leads are almost embarrassing. I guess the members who have left the band took all the inspiration with them, because this is not an album really worth wasting time on. |
