Norwegian Black Metal always has the hurdle of being Norwegian to overcome, as the scene has so played out there that it's almost impossible to find a new sound, or even a variation that has not been done to death. This disc does OK at aping its influences, and if you like orthodoxy then you will be happy here, but Sarath are more or less utterly generic. The riffs are decent but stale, the guitar sound is primitive but too smooth, and the vocals are so faceless they could be anybody. Not a bad disc, but why is it here?
