This is a double-disc re-release of Khors first two albums The Flame of Eternity's Decline and their follow-up Cold. I had never heard of this band, so I wasn't sure why we needed a massive repressing like this. I have to say I'm still not sure. Khors are a Ukranian band, and despite that they have released four albums and this they have been obscure and probably will remain that way.

The Flame of Eternity's Decline is a disc of utterly pedestrian Black Metal. The guitar sound is nice and murky, and at first I thought the riffs were nicely inaccessible, but on repeated listens they are just rather uninteresting. The songs are too long and just repeat, all the songs sound pretty much alike, and the vocals are a dull rasp with no character.

Cold is better, with a weaker guitar sound but better riffs and some more melodies and hooks to hang the songs on. The compositions are still baggy and lack focus, and the vocals are no better, despite having more effects laid on them. There are some nice leads on here though. Not technical, but with a good feel for phrasing and tempo.

Overall this is over two hours of generic Black Metal that you don't really need. If you are a fan of half-assed Ukranian stuff I guess you'd like this, but it's underwhelming.
