This is a Thrash album. There's not a whole lot more to say about it than that. The riffs are solid, the playing workmanlike, the vocals are kind of raspy while still sounding Thrash, and the songwriting is completely conventional and stodgy. Deathfist are entertaining, but they play too slow for me and never really let it rip. This is the kind of Thrash I don't favor, where the band lets the drums carry the speed rather than letting the guitars really blaze away. If you are a retro-Thrash fan then I guess this will be awesome, but I think it's just kind of predictable and unexciting. |
