Horifixion is a thrash/death 4 piece from Quebec Canada. This disc definitely has a late eighties thrash vibe. I can also hear some influences such as Kreator, Destruction, and a little Meshuggah. The musicianship on the CD is good quality especially the drumming of Patrice Hamelin, who has some of the fastest feet I have heard. The dual vocals are mostly aggro and work well. The guitars are sort of back in the mix which, I think, hurts the overall quality a little. The songs are well constructed and there are some good disharmonic elements, such as the intro to track 3, Another Man, and track, 5 Misfortune. The only beef is, the lead guitar could use a little work. |
