Neuraxis are a five piece death /grind outfit from Montreal Quebec Canada. There latest CD Truth Beyond... is a bludgeoning affair reminiscent of the Swedish death metal scene .The 13 songs on said platter are extremely well produced and written. For the most part the disc is death metal, but Neuraxis do good job of including elements from other genres like the melodicism of some Swedish bands like In Flames and Soilwork and, the technical arrangements and numerous tempo changes inspired by the progressive scene. The vocals remind me a little of George "Corpsegrinder" Fisher, with some black metal screams thrown in here and there. Also something not heard in death metal too much are guitar solos, both guitarists contribute here as well as some good dual harmony action. One standout track is definitely # 7 Memento, showing the listener they can take it down a notch, and play some great harmonies. All in all a must for any fan of face ripping metal. |
