This is some decent Black metal with some really shit vocals. The riffing here is inventive, energetic, and heavy, the songwriting is pretty shapeless, but eh, what can you do. The vocals are of the "impassioned howl" variety that tries to be compelling but is really just annoying. Added to this is the fact that this vocalist will. Not. Shut. Up. Almost every moment of the album is consumed by his overwrought bleating and yapping, and it just gets so tiresome, making 22 minutes feel like 45. Pass. |
