This is more of a project with one guy handling the distorted guitars, programmed drums, and screaming. I have to say I really liked this initially, as it has this huge, distorted, murky sound that is really different and striking. But the songwriting has no structure to it, and there is far too much noise-for-the-sake-of-noise going on here. The recording sounds dark and mysterious, but the compositions are sterile and lacking in any kind of organic growth or appeal. This literally sounds like music made by a machine, and that may have been what he was aiming for, but so what? |
