This band bills themselves as Thrash, and they are perhaps a bit thrashy, but mostly this is pure, unadulterated Gothenburg-flavored Melodeath in the vein of Arch Enemy, Dark Tranquility or Colony-era In Flames, with chunky, sometimes slightly groovish riffs set off by sharp melodic leadwork and really dry, boring vocal rasping. This band isn't really aping their influences as well as they could, and this comes off as quite derivative of and not as good as other bands. It's not bad, and you won't shut it off in disgust or anything, but there's just nothing here that hasn't been done thousands of times, and done better. Solid, and very polished for an unsigned band, but unremarkable. |
