This is a kind of irritating album of rather jangly, thrashy Black Metal. The basic sound is pretty derivative of Aussie stalwarts like Bestial Warlust – speedy, murky riffing, vicious rasping vocals, and a loose kind of dirty feel to the playing. Mhorgl, however, feel compelled to add a lot of squealing, terrible would-be leadwork and make their songwriting as jerky and annoying as possible. There is a definite prog/jazz vibe at work here, and that shit just gets on my last nerve. |
