I enjoyed this band's 2007 gem Decrowning the Irenarch, so I was glad to see this pop up on my promo sheet. Spearhead have been morphing more and more into a Death Metal band with ever album, and this one sees them finally leaving pretty much all traces of Black Metal behind.
Fast, aggressive, and viciously proficient metal is what you get here. This is very much in the vein of classic Morbid Angel with fast and furious riffs backed up by high-speed drumwork and raspy midrange vocals. There is not a shred of originality to this, but it is kickass and executed with real energy and conviction. If you like fast, classic-era Death Metal, then this is an album to get into.
