Einfall's 2009 debut, The Art to Enslave, is a fairly generic, albeit very well played slice of Celtic Frost-inspired Black Metal. The band stays away from tremolo picking and blast beast, instead favoring slower tempos and melodic riffing. There are parts of the album slow enough, in fact, to be considered Doom ("Mean Light"), which gives The Art to Enslave a bit of a unique flavor. Still, the typical Black Metal raspy vocals, flat production and heard-it-before songwriting prevent it from rising much above the crowd. |
