If ever there were a band that needed to get a full-length out, it's California's Laceration. If the quality shown upon this demo Realms of the Unconscious is any sort of indicator to this band's future then I'd expect we will see great things in the future. These guys play an ass-splitting brand of thrash the type pedaled by Demolition Hammer, Kreator, Invocator or Protector back in the day.

On Realms of the Unconscious Laceration lay down a ridiculous amount of badass riffs. The title track begins with a short acoustic intro and from that point on, it's face-ripping season. My head was flailing for nigh on seventeen minutes, the band just don't let up, aiming for the throat and hitting the mark with ease. The sound is great and I really wouldn't have known it was demo without the prior knowledge, the artwork is quality reminding me of the crazy death metal album covers from the 90's. You wouldn't expect something predominantly pink to kick this much backside. It would be pointless to name standouts as this is just bloody great from start to finish. Highly recommended.
