This is an EP from a new band who don't have much info about themselves out. There are just three songs on this, which is a shame, as this is some kickass stuff. Opener "They Live (We Sleep)" is a hard-assed Priest-styled song with chugging riffs and aggressive, powerful vocals. The second track is a bit too thrashy and chaotic, but still listenable, while closer "This Fire" works a more commercial vibe but still delivers hooky riffs and singable vocal lines. This band has talent bursting at the seams, and while this EP shows obvious budgetary limitations and sometimes unfocused songwriting, it still proves what this band can do. Neverworld are absolutely a band who should be signed, because they flash a lot of potential here. |
