I had high hopes for this one, based on the band name alone, but that didn't last long after pressing play. Witchcurse play old school Heavy Metal, but it comes off as pretty damn amateurish and doesn't really have any highlights – it's pretty bland and generic, with a muddy production and vocals that leave to be desired (when they don't just plain irritate.) As a demo this would be somewhat tolerable, but as an official EP, well, there isn't much, if anything to get excited about – more like the opposite. Their heart is in the right place, but they have a lot of work to do across the board. |
