This is a fierce disc of Black Metal with a bit of an epic edge. Erebus Enthroned are an Aussie band, so there is a certain influence from Destroyer666 – it's impossible to ignore. The raspy vocals, the marching guitars riffs, the bigger sense of melody than first blush would lead you to expect. This isn't original or groundbreaking in any way at all, but it is well-produced and viscerally engaging. If you like aggressive but melodically-sound Black Metal, then check this out. |
